From 2016–2019, Deven served on the Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), and in 2020 he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve on the board of OPIC’s successor agency, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. From 2010–2012, Deven was a Member of the Advisory Board of the U.S. Export-Import Bank, the official export credit agent of the United States. Deven also served as a Member of the Technical Advisory Council of the Federal Communications Commission from 2011-2018, assisting with the development of informed technology policies to support job creation and America’s competitiveness in the global economy.
Deven currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Board of Overseers of NYU Langone, and the Board of Directors for the Tisch New York MS Research Center. He has previously served on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, and he is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Publicolor, a non-profit organization focused on New York City public schools. In 2006, Deven was named a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, which seeks to develop the next generation of community-spirited leaders. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York.
Prior to joining Insight, Deven was a Principal at Berenson Minella & Company, a New York-based merchant banking firm, where he served on the M&A Committee. He also worked for Blackstone on M&A and other investment activities. Deven has a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
