Marketing and Communications Manager

Join Indiaspora, a global network of Indian-origin leaders dedicated to catalyzing social change. We are on the lookout for a full-time Marketing and Communications Manager to drive our brand and contribute to our dynamic startup culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute a strategic marketing and communications plan for Indiaspora, targeting media, the global Indian diaspora, partner organizations, and members.

  • Utilize digital analytics to inform decisions, focusing on SEO and digital marketing to elevate the organization's brand.

  • Manage internal and external marketing materials, including email communications and presentation decks.

  • Act as the main contact for media inquiries, coordinate interviews, draft and distribute press releases, and identify media placement opportunities.

  • Oversee Indiaspora's social media channels and collaborate with the team to expand content and reach.

  • Manage the organization's newsletters, strategizing for wider audience reach.

  • Create a value-added member newsletter.

  • Supervise ongoing programs, events, and initiatives, including the Indiaspora Lists project.

  • Oversee updates for Indiaspora's websites and online calendar.

  • Manage internal lists and CRM databases, serving as a project manager for high-profile events.

  • Fill in as needed for newsletter, social media, and other tasks.

  • Occasionally be available for immediate social media or event needs, including evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant fields (social sciences, marketing, communications, information systems, South Asian studies, or International Relations). A graduate degree is preferred.

  • Proficiency in digital and marketing analytics, including SEO, Google Ads, and other Google products.

  • Proven ability to identify opportunities and work as a self-starter.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the press and a knack for commissioning original content.

  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and GSuite, including Gmail and Google Drive (Documents, Sheets, and Slides).

  • Familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in tracking news related to the Indian diaspora community.

  • Graphic design and video editing skills.

  • Experience planning and executing events (strongly preferred).

  • Familiarity with SquareSpace and/or basic HTML design.

Compensation and Benefits:

This exciting career opportunity allows you to work with a passionate and thriving team. The salary range is $63,000-$72,000 and is commensurate with experience. Indiaspora also offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
