Debottam Bose
Debottam T. Bose is India’s first art lawyer. He is also a senior legal advisor to the Oxford India Center, Somerville College, Oxford University and on the legal committee of J N Tata Endowment Fund.
Debottam has worked in international law firms like Skadden, Arps, Slate Meagher & Flom LLP (London) and White & Case LLP (London). He further studied art history in London and then went on to develop a niche consultancy, with a focus on international art, finance and philanthropy. Interconnections of art, philanthropy and advocacy has allowed his practice, along with independent teams of diverse professionals, to be involved in advising a cross section of clients from private collectors, family offices, artists, charitable hospitals, museums and universities.
Debottam guest lectures frequently, and has taught at Harvard Law School, Harvard Business School, Columbia University, Jindal University, Ashoka University, and National University of Singapore. He divides his time between New York, London, Oxford, Paris, New Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Singapore.
