In 2001, Tony Fernandes founded AirAsia, the first low-cost airline in Malaysia. He is also the co-founder of Tune Group, a leisure and entertainment corporation.

Tony is a trustee of AirAsia’s philanthropic arm, the AirAsia Foundation. The foundation helps with the social enterprise for the underprivileged and humanitarian aid in times of disaster. In 2016, he joined the Global Council of Amnesty International.

In 2015, TIME Magazine placed him in the TIME 100.
