Sunil Wadhwani

Sunil Wadhwani is the Co-Founder and Ex Chairman of IGATE Corporation. Sunil was one of the early pioneers of the IT industry, and his vision has guided the development and execution of IGATE’s worldwide strategy. In addition to IGATE, Sunil is the Co- Founder and Chairman of the Board of Mastech Corporation, a provider of high-value information technology services and solutions.

Sunil has started and co-funded several innovation-focused companies and start-ups for the past 30 years. To pursue his passion and commitment for improving healthcare service delivery, Sunil established Wadhwani Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare (WISH Foundation), a non-profit headquartered in New Delhi to support innovations in healthcare. With an aim of building an equitable healthcare system, WISH is making quality healthcare accessible to underserved populations in priority states and has committed several million dollars to scale over 50 healthcare innovations.

In 2018, Sunil Wadhwani and his brother, Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, established the Wadhwani Institute for AI for Social Good in Mumbai, a non-profit research institute and global hub for developing AI solutions for social good in public health, education, skilling, job creation, and infrastructure. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Wadhwani Institute in 2018. WIAI was awarded the Google Prize in 2019 for one of its innovative initiatives.
