S.D. Shibulal (Shibu) is the Co-founder, former Member of the Board and CEO of Infosys Ltd. From 1991 to 1996, Shibu had worked with Sun Microsystems in the US, where he led the team which designed and implemented Sun’s first e-commerce application. In 2014, Shibu co-founded Axilor Ventures – a new generation platform to improve odds of success of entrepreneurs. With three distinct programmes: accelerator, scale-up and early stage funding, Axilor provides infrastructure, mentoring and capital for high-impact, India–focussed start-ups (in the areas of e-commerce, Healthcare and Cleantech).
Mrs Kumari Shibulal is the Founder & Chairperson of the Shibulal Family Philanthropic Initiatives (SFPI). Kumari’s early childhood experiences reinforced her faith in the importance of education and she firmly believes that education is the cornerstone of nation-building. Hence, when she started her philanthropic journey in 1999, she chose to focus on education. Initiatives such as Vidyadhan, Ankur, Vidyarakshak, ShikshaLokam aim to transform lives by providing equal access to education and empowering leadership in school administration. Shibu is a trustee of the Infosys Science Foundation, a not-for-profit trust set up by Infosys. He is also a Member of the Board of Trustees of Boston University, member of the Board of Managers of Haverford College, Philadelphia, Chairman of High Power Digital Advisory Committee of Kerala, and Chairman of the Tamara.
Shibu holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Boston University and a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Kerala.
