Anand Mahindra

Anand Mahindra is Vice Chairman and managing director of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., which is the flagship company of the Mahindra Group. Mahindra Group is among the top 10 industrial houses in India. He is also a very engaged Harvard alumnus — his engagement includes membership on the Committee on University Resources, the Advisory Committee of the Harvard University Asia Center, the HBS Board of Dean’s Advisors, and the Asia-Pacific Advisory Board. He also co-founded the HBS Association of India.

In 1996, Anand began Project Nanhi Kali (‘a little bud’) at the K.C. Mahindra Education Trust. The purpose of this organization is educating underprivileged girls in India through scholarships. In addition to the foundation of this project, he provided a gift to Harvard University in 2010 to support the Humanities Center in honor of his mother, Indira Mahindra.

Anand also received the HBS Alumni Achievement Award in 2008. In 2013 he was awarded “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Forbes India.
