Vivek Ragavan

President, CEO, Co-founder, Siaras

Vivek Ragavan has developed a solid track record launching technology startups and guiding them to positive outcomes.

As president and CEO, Vivek was instrumental in the growth of telecommunications startup, Siara Systems, and its highly successful sale to Redback Networks, for $4.3 billion in 1999. Subsequent to the acquisition of Siara Systems, Vivek became CEO of Redback. Under Vivek’s leadership, Redback was named by Forbes magazine as one of the top 20 best managed, fastest-growing technology companies in the world.

Vivek currently serves as the President & CEO of Airvine, a company with a game changing wireless technology that vastly simplifies and reduces the time to deploy gigabit networks throughout buildings. Vivek was also CEO at several other networking and software companies, including Atrica, which was purchased by Nokia Siemens Networks in 2008. Earlier in his career, Vivek held senior management positions at ADC, General Instrument, and Comsat. Vivek holds a BSEE from Northwestern University and an MSEE from Cornell University.

He currently serves on the Advisory Council of the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University and as a trustee of the Motivation for Excellence (MFE) Initiative. 

He and his wife Dr .Nilima Ragavan, have three children and currently reside in Portola Valley, California.
