Shamini is the Co-founder and Honorary Chief Mentor of WNS Cares Foundation (WCF)* and Creator, CyberSmart. She has years of hands-on experience in community development and has helped establish two noteworthy organizations in the area of corporate social responsibility – S’Prayas and WCF.
In 2006, Shamini founded S’Prayas. With the mission of “Enriching Young Minds”, S’Prayas has created new opportunities for many bright, lesser privileged children in the communities. Under her mentorship, S’Prayas reached out to schools in Mumbai, Pune and Chennai impacting over 4,000 children. The focus was computer literacy and education.
Shamini began her career in journalism with Business Standard (India’s leading business newspaper) after her M.Phil in Economics from Madras University. She has also worked as a freelance journalist but has focused on CSR for the past two decades. She is an avid reader, a passionate traveler and an action movie buff. Shamini is married to Keshav Murugesh, Group CEO of WNS Global Services and Past Chairman of Nasscom. She is a mother of two, with the daughter an Architect and the son, a Tech and Finance consultant. Shamini recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma from the Said Business School, University of Oxford.
