Monica Arora

Partner and Co-Head of the Private Funds Group at Proskauer

Monica Arora is a partner and co-head of the Private Funds Group at Proskauer, where she advises asset managers on the full spectrum of investment fund matters across a wide variety of strategies including buyout, credit, growth equity, energy transition, real assets and infrastructure funds. 

Monica is a thought leader in the industry and is consistently ranked as a leading investment funds lawyer, including by Chambers USA and The Legal 500 and was named to The Deal’s “Top Women in Dealmaking” list in 2023 and to Forbes’ inaugural list of “America’s Top 200 Lawyers” in 2024. 

Monica is a prominent and engaged participant in the private funds community, including as a member of the Private Investment Funds Forum, the New York City Bar Association’s Private Investment Funds Committee, Women in Private Equity and the Private Equity Women Investor Network (PEWIN). 

Monica’s influence extends beyond her role as co-head of the Department and a leader in the private funds community.  She plays a key role in numerous internal and external community initiatives and was recognized by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association as a 2022 Rainmaker. She is an active board member of Her Justice, a leading organization that provides free legal advice to low-income women living in New York City and is actively engaged in several other charitable boards outside the Firm. 

Monica graduated from the University of Chicago and received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.  She lives in lower Manhattan with her husband Raj and their two daughters, Ana and Sara.
