Zohran Mamdani is a prominent member of the New York State Assembly as of 2024, representing the 36th district. Elected in 2020, he has quickly established himself as a progressive voice within the legislature, focusing on issues such as affordable housing, environmental justice, and healthcare reform. Mamdani is known for his advocacy on behalf of marginalized communities, championing policies that promote equity and social justice. 

With a background in community organizing, he has successfully mobilized grassroots support for various initiatives, including tenant protections and climate action measures. As a member of the Assembly, Mamdani continues to work diligently to address the pressing challenges facing his constituents and to foster inclusive policies that benefit all New Yorkers.
