Senior Advisor Trina Dutta provides policy and guidance on programs to the Office Assistant Secetary to help with the nation’s behavioral health and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) mission. She previously worked for the Department of Behavioral Health in DC, and led system redesign efforts in mental healthcare.
Trina worked for 8 years with SAMHSA focusing on behavioral integration. This included her leading the Primary Bahvioral Health Care Integration program, and SAMHSA’s parternship with CMS on the person-centered health homes program. She also helped establish SAMHSA’s disparity impact statements, which aim to address disparties in access, use and outcomes among traditionally underserved populations.
Trina graduated from The Ohio State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Psychology. She served in the Peace Corps and received a Master of Public Health/ Master of Public Policy dual degree from UC Berkeley.
