Sumona Guha

Senior Director for South Asia at the National Security Council

Sumona Guha serves as the Senior Director for South Asia at the National Security Council, appointed by President Biden. Before her current role, she was Senior Vice-President at the Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm​​​​​​. Her extensive career in public service includes roles such as Special Advisor for National Security Affairs to then-Vice President Biden during the Obama administration. 

Guha has also worked as a Foreign Service Officer and was part of the Secretary of State’s policy planning staff, focusing on South Asia. She co-chaired the South Asia Foreign Policy Working Group on the Biden-Harris campaign and participated in the State Department Agency Review Team during the transition.
