Sumona Guha serves as the Senior Director for South Asia at the National Security Council, appointed by President Biden. Before her current role, she was Senior Vice-President at the Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm. Her extensive career in public service includes roles such as Special Advisor for National Security Affairs to then-Vice President Biden during the Obama administration.
Guha has also worked as a Foreign Service Officer and was part of the Secretary of State’s policy planning staff, focusing on South Asia. She co-chaired the South Asia Foreign Policy Working Group on the Biden-Harris campaign and participated in the State Department Agency Review Team during the transition.
