Minister Bholah is currently the Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives. Soomilduth held the portfolio of Business, Enterprise and Cooperatives in the Government of Mauritius from December 2014 till 11 November 2019. He is now at the head of the Industrial Development Division as part of his ministerial portfolio.

Soomilduth is a Chartered Accountant. He has served for 35 years in a Senior Management position in the Private Sector. He has also been a Financial Director in the private sector for over 25 years.

Soomilduth is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK). He is also a member of the Chartered Global Management Accountants of USA. He enjoys soccer,learning and talking about International Politics and climate change.
