Sasindran Muthuvel, originally from Tamil Nadu, India, has made a significant impact as a politician and businessman in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
After migrating to Malaysia and facing challenges in Singapore, Muthuvel found new opportunities in PNG, where he became a citizen in 2007. Initially, he managed Hamamas Trading Ltd, a retail chain in West New Britain.
In 2012, Muthuvel was elected as the Governor of West New Britain Province, becoming the first person of Indian origin to serve in the Papua New Guinea Parliament. He was re-elected in 2017 and has held various leadership roles, including Minister of State-Owned Enterprises.
