Sam Joshi, the first South Asian and youngest mayor of Edison, New Jersey, took office in January 2022 at age 32. Born and raised in Edison, Joshi previously served as Vice President of the Edison Township Council, becoming the youngest elected official in the town’s history at 27.
His public service includes roles on the Fair Rental Housing Authority Board and the Edison Zoning Board, as well as working as a 9-1-1 telecommunicator for the Edison Police Department.
Joshi focuses on stabilizing taxes, investing in infrastructure, and preventing overdevelopment. His leadership aims to promote green energy and support business development. Indiaspora is proud to have Sam Joshi in our Government Leaders List.
