Ruby Sahota is a Canadian Liberal politician representing Brampton North in the House of Commons since 2015. Before her political career, she worked as a lawyer.
Sahota has been actively involved in various committees, including the Standing Committee on the Status of Women and the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs. In 2021, she was appointed Deputy Government Whip, and in January 2024, she was promoted to Chief Government Whip, where she is responsible for maintaining discipline within the Liberal caucus.
Sahota’s work has focused on several key areas such as public transit, post-secondary education, affordable childcare, and human rights. Her leadership roles have included chairing the Federal Liberal Ontario Caucus and participating in the Special Committee on Electoral Reform.
