Richard R. Verma serves as the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources at the U.S. State Department as of 2024. He previously held the prestigious role of U.S. Ambassador to India, where he was instrumental in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing trade partnerships. Verma has also worked in key positions within the U.S. government, including as the Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs and as a senior adviser to the Secretary of State.
