Riad Nurmohamed is a Surinamese politician and civil engineer who has served as the Minister of Public Works in Suriname since 2020, under the Santokhi administration. A member of the Progressive Reform Party (VHP), Nurmohamed has played a crucial role in modernizing and improving the country’s infrastructure, with a focus on sustainable development.
Before his ministerial role, he had a distinguished career in civil engineering and academia, serving as a professor at Anton de Kom University of Suriname. Nurmohamed has been recognized for his technical expertise and commitment to transparency in public works, advocating for efficient management of resources and combating corruption in the sector.
