Prabmeet Sarkaria is a prominent Indo-Canadian politician serving as the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Brampton South since 2018. Representing the Progressive Conservative Party, he has held several significant roles in the Ontario government. 

Sarkaria was the Associate Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction from 2019 to 2021. He then served as the President of the Treasury Board from 2021 to 2023, and currently, he is the Minister of Transportation, appointed in September 2023​​​​​​.

Before entering politics, Sarkaria worked as a corporate and commercial associate at Miller Thomson LLP and previously at TD Securities. He is also recognized as Ontario’s first turban-wearing Sikh Cabinet minister. Indiaspora is proud to have Prabmeet Sarkaria in our Global  Government List.
