Nima Kulkarni

Kentucky State Representative

In 2018, Nima Kulkarni became the first Indian immigrant to be elected in the history of the Kentucky Legislature. She has also managed her own immigration law practice since 2010, helping others achieve the American Dream. Nima has dedicated her time as a public servant to helping the most vulnerable Kentuckians. She has been able to stop harmful anti-immigrant legislation, as well as gain bipartisan support for a historic bill that would ensure a fair and equitable judicial process for all Kentuckians.

Nima Kulkarni is a prominent member of the Kentucky State House, serving as a dedicated advocate for her constituents as of 2024. Elected to the House in 2019, she has distinguished herself through her commitment to social justice, education reform, and equitable healthcare access. Kulkarni, the first Indian-American woman elected to the Kentucky legislature, leverages her background in law and public policy to address the needs of diverse communities.

She has been instrumental in advancing legislation aimed at improving education and mental health services while championing initiatives to enhance economic opportunities for all Kentuckians. In addition to her legislative work, Kulkarni actively engages with local organizations and communities, fostering collaboration and inclusivity across the state. Indiaspora is proud to have Nima Kulkarni on our Government Leaders list.
