Mergan Chetty is a South African politician and a dedicated member of the Democratic Alliance (DA). Elected to the National Assembly in the 2019 South African general election, he has served as the Shadow Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation since June 2019.
Chetty has been an integral part of the DA’s leadership under both Mmusi Maimane and John Steenhuisen, maintaining his role in the shadow cabinet. As a member of the Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation, he has been actively involved in shaping South Africa’s foreign policy.
