Dr. Meena Seshamani M.D. is the Deputy Administrator and Director of Center for Medicare. She will be leading the CMS Center for Medicare’s efforts serving those 65 and older, those with disabilities, and those with End-Stage Renal Disease on Medicare coverage. She has been nationally recognized by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement for the models and service lines under her leadership.
Previously, Meena served as the Vice President of Clinical Care Transformation at Med Star where she worked on population health and value based care. She also has decades of policy experience, recently serving on leadership of the Biden-Harris Transition HHS Agency Review Team. Additionally, she drove strategy and led implementation of the Affordable Care Act across the Department of Health and Human Services while serving as the Director of the Office of Health Reform.
Meena received her B.A. with Honors in Business Economics from Brown University, her M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and her Ph.D. in Health Economics from the University of Oxford. She completed her residency training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and practiced as a head and neck surgeon at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco.
