Jigar Shah serves as the Director of the Loan Programs Office (LPO) at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he spearheads initiatives to finance innovative clean energy projects that drive the nation’s transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future. Since assuming the role, Shah has expanded access to critical funding for groundbreaking technologies in renewable energy, electric vehicles, carbon capture, and advanced nuclear. 

Known for his expertise in scaling climate solutions, Shah is a leading voice in energy finance and climate innovation. His efforts at the LPO have been pivotal in mobilizing billions of dollars to support the U.S. clean energy economy and mitigate climate change. Originally from Illinois, Shah holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois-UC and an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland College Park.
