Jagannath Sami, as of 2024, serves as Fiji’s High Commissioner to India, where he actively works to strengthen Fiji-India diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. Sami has held prominent roles that underscore his commitment to regional development and advocacy for Pacific Island nations. 

His efforts focus on enhancing trade opportunities, supporting educational exchanges, and building partnerships in areas like agriculture, climate resilience, and renewable energy—key concerns for Fiji and other Pacific nations. Sami’s diplomatic work in India has been marked by initiatives to attract investment and promote Fijian heritage abroad.
