Mayor Sidhu was elected mayor of Anaheim in November 2018. Harry was previously served on Anaheim’s City Council from 2004 to 2012, including as mayor pro tem from 2009 to 2011 and in 2012. He seeks to encourage a thriving business community and economic development that creates jobs and housing and that meets the needs of residents and businesses. During his first tenure on Anaheim’s City Council, Sidhu started the city’s annual free Anaheim Health Fair as well as the yearly Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo. He is Anaheim’s first mayor of Indian heritage.
Harry was the chairman of Anaheim’s Budget Advisory Commission and served on the city’s Audit Committee. He also previously served on the board of directors for the Orange County Water District and as an alternate to the Santa Ana Watershed Authority board of directors. He has worked as an engineer for aerospace companies Rockwell International, General Dynamics and Hughes Aircraft. He also started a small business that began with a single restaurant.
Harry holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Philadelphia’s Drexel University. His community involvement has included service as a board member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim, an advisory board member of the Anaheim Family YMCA and a member of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and the Anaheim Small Business Chamber. He has also coached youth soccer and is a supporter of the arts and arts education. He is a licensed professional engineer, general aviation pilot and real estate broker.
