Gurinder Singh Josan

Member of Parliament for Smethwick

Gurinder Singh Josan is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Smethwick since the 2024 general election. Josan has a long history of public service, having first been elected as a counselor for Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council in 2002, where he served until 2010. He also sits on Labour’s National Executive Committee and the West Midlands’ Strategic Policing and Crime Board.

A dedicated community leader, Josan is a trustee of the HOPE Not Hate charitable trust and a former trustee of the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Smethwick. He has also contributed to education governance, serving as a governor for three schools. Additionally, Josan has experience in property management, owning several rental properties.
