Aruna Miller is the 10th Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, the first woman of color and immigrant to hold statewide office in Maryland. Born in Andhra Pradesh, India, she moved to the US at seven. She holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Miller served in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2010 to 2018, focusing on STEM education and small business regulation.
As lieutenant governor, she oversees transportation, mental health, and STEM equity initiatives. She also chairs the Governor’s Work Zone Safety Work Group and the Council on Interfaith Outreach.
