August 8th 2024, Thursday

Indiaspora hosted five amazing panelists for our virtual event “Raising Children in a Changing World” on August 8th. The panel discussed practices for fostering a deep connection with the next generation of children in our lives and what it means to show up for them in the ways they need. The conversation address issues around cultural identity, gender identity, parenting children in the digital age, and mental health challenges among youth.

Our audience was able to ask the experts about alternative perspectives and strategies on blending modern parenting strategies with a strong foundation of cultural values, as they grow and shift with our ever-changing relationship to our culture and place. Special thank you to the panelists, Akshata Nayak Founder, Little Patakha, Aruna Rao – Executive Director, Desi Rainbow, Dr. Ekta Kumar – Director, DEIB & Asst. Professor of Psychology, USC, Dr. Anisha Abraham – Division Chief Children’s National Hospital; Author, Raising Global Teens, and our moderator, Moira Shourie, Executive Director, Zócalo Public Square.
