Indiaspora was honored to host an engaging discussion that brought together experts from the field to examine how journalism serves as a cornerstone of democracy. We delved into the challenges and opportunities facing the media today, including the rise of misinformation, the impact of digital platforms, and the ongoing struggle for press freedom around the world.
Our speakers offered their analysis on many of the obstacles facing the journalism industry, particularly at the local level, and it subsequent impact on civic engagement. The Panel was moderated by Sree Sreenivasan, CEO of Digimentors and included Sonal Shah, CEO of Texas Tribune, Chandran Sankaran, Founder, Gigafact, and Laxmi Parthasarathy, COO of Global Press.
