Indiaspora hosted a virtual session discussing India’s recent election results on Wednesday. Our panelists Dhruva Jaishankar, Executive Director of Observer Research Foundation America, Pratik Dattani, Managing Director of Economic Policy Group, Indrani Bagchi, CEO of Ananta Centre, and Victor Thomas, President & CEO of India-Canada Business Council participated in a comprehensive discussion moderated by Aditi Sangal of CNN.
The panelists discussed the results of the election and its economic impacts, hopes and concerns for the new administration, the power and impact of the India voter across political and socioeconomic status, and what it means to be “the world’s largest democracy.” Members of our audience were able to ask these experts some of their pressing questions on trade, international relations, the hopes of the coalition governance, economic progress, and how the diaspora can contribute to India’s continued growth.
