Indiaspora received a very enthusiastic reception in Australia last week, when we met Indian diaspora leaders and Indophiles across many professions in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. While emphasizing the significance of the Indian diaspora there and the importance of the Indo-Australian bilateral corridor, we stressed upon the benefits of thinking more globally and aligning with our international leaders’ network. Several prominent Indo-Australians expressed their keen interest in participating in the Indiaspora Forum for Good to be held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in February 2025.

Highlights of the trip included an exclusive dinner with Indo-Australian CEOs and Board Members featuring the iconic former cricketer Steve Waugh as the guest of honor (courtesy of Centre for Australia-India Relations). Attendees included 25 Indian-origin CEOs and Directors of companies listed on the Australia Securities Exchange (ASX), who gathered with the vision of supporting their peers and leveraging global best practices to strengthen the Australia-India economic relationship, enhance people-to-people ties, and promote cultural exchange.

As we advance our work Down Under, we look forward to collaborating with highly reputed organizations like the Centre for Australia-India Relations, Confederation of Indian Industry, India Australia Business and Community Alliance, Cricket Australia, Cricket Victoria, St. Vincent’s Curran Foundation and others. We appreciate KPMG Australia providing us with their outstanding premises to hold our events, complete with spectacular views of Melbourne and Sydney. Indiaspora was represented by Sanjeev Joshipura, Nisha Nambiar, and Jai Patel, Country Head of Australia.
