Sundar Pichai spearheaded Google’s acquisition of Nest, the development of Android One, and the creation of Chrome OS. Now serving as the CEO of Google and its parent company Alphabet, Sundar now oversees the “Other Bets” division of Alphabet as well. Sundar completed his degree in metallurgical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and subsequently received a scholarship from Stanford to pursue a Master’s in Engineering. Sundar also holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. Before joining Google in 2004, Sundar worked briefly for Applied Materials and consulting firm McKinsey & Company.

In the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement, Google has taken strides to address racial injustice. Sundar announced the creation of a special task force entitled the Equity Project Management Office that will respond to employee suggestions on improvements for racial equality within Google. Additionally, the company has committed $175 million to racial equality initiatives with a focus on supporting Black entrepreneurs and businesses.
