Sumit is the CEO of Chewy and serves on the company’s board of directors. Under Sumit’s leadership, Chewy became a public company in 2019, trading on the New York Stock Exchange and raising $1 billion from the stock sale. Prior to Chewy, Sumit held leadership roles at Amazon and Dell. He received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Punjab Technical University in India and a master’s degree from the University of Texas, Austin before earning his MBA from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business

Giving back has always been an important part of Chewy’s culture and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chewy has donated over $9 million in pet food, medication, supplies and other essential products to provide support to pet parents and communities across the country that have been impacted the most by the effects of COVID-19.

Fun Fact: Although Sumit is not formally trained in music, he plays multiple musical instruments and has numerous songs that he has written and composed.
