Nikesh joined as the head of cyber security firm Palo Alto Networks in 2018, after having served as president and COO at mobile carrier SoftBank for two years. A former Google executive, he grew its search business from $2 billion in revenues to over $60 billion during his tenure. Nikesh holds a bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Technology at Banaras Hindu University, an MBA from Northeastern University, and a master’s of science from Boston College.
Nikesh also serves on the board of non-profit organization, Tipping Point, committing to fighting poverty in the Bay Area. Palo Alto Networks has teamed up with other Bay Area companies to contribute a total of $22 million towards COVID-19 relief efforts. The company also has active cybersecurity programs for students, including a partnership with the Girl Scouts of America to engage more girls in STEM activities and careers.
