Dinesh Kumar Khara is a highly influential figure in the Indian banking industry. He joined the State Bank of India (SBI) in 1984 and ascended through the ranks to become its Chairman in October 2020. 

During Khara’s extensive career at SBI, he has held positions in international banking, corporate banking, risk management, and subsidiary oversight. He led the successful merger of five subsidiary banks and Bhartiya Mahila Bank with SBI. He also oversaw the growth and profitability of SBI’s non-banking subsidiaries like SBI Cards and SBI Life Insurance.
