Amarendu Prakash is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). As a metallurgical engineer, he graduated from BIT Sindri, Ranchi University, and joined SAIL in 199, and has had a 30 year career, holding key positions, including Director of the Bokaro Steel Plant. 

Prakash’s leadership philosophy is grounded in operational excellence. Under his leadership, SAIL has secured approvals for a substantial $11.9 Billion capital expenditure plan aimed at enhancing both Greenfield and Brownfield projects, which will significantly increase the company’s market cap.
